Saeko Shimazu (島津 冴子, Shimazu Saeko, born September 8, 1959) is a Japanese actress, voice actress and narrator from Isehara. Shimazu is notable for having had voice roles in all four of the major anime television series based on the works of Rumiko Takahashi - she played Yoshi in Super Mario, Shinobu Miyake in Urusei Yatsura, Sayoko Kuroki in Maison Ikkoku, Kodachi Kuno in Ranma ½, and Abi-hime in InuYasha.^[1] Shimazu is currently a freelancer.

In Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island is the first world of the game, as well as where Yoshi is first met.It is located at the southwest portion of Dinosaur Land. Yoshi's House is located where Mario and Luigi begin their jouney, with the Yellow Switch Palace at the summit of Kappa Mountain to the northwest, and #1 Iggy's Castle to the northeast. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island is a 1995 platform video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. In order to reunite baby brothers Mario and Luigi, the latter who has been kidnapped by Bowser's minions, the player controls Yoshi, a friendly dinosaur, through 48 levels while carrying Baby Mario. Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 is a game released for the Game Boy in 1994. It is set apart from the first two Super Mario Land games in that it does not star Mario but instead stars Mario's rival, Wario. This is the third and final installment in the Super Mario Land series and the first installment in the Wario Land series.
